Satelliet Browns Student Design Challenge 2008 Winner is announced........ it's Ruth Blizzard from University of Glamorgan!
A very big thank you goes out to all the contestants who submitted entries for this years challenge. The judging session was held in London on Friday 4th April 2008. The judging event was attended by a number of top designers from the industry and each of them commented on the high standard of this years entries. This year the prizes were presented at Bar 08 in Earls Court - 1st Place received an i Pod Classic 80GB, 2nd place an i Pod Nano 8GB and 3rd place a 4GB i Pod Nano. Harvey Ockrim, Managing Director of Satelliet Browns commented on the excellent quality of the entries this year and congratulated all the student designers on their efforts. Ruth Blizzard, this years winner, accepted her prize from Harvey and was absolutely thrilled to see the "New Designers Bar" built to replicate her design. It has turned out to be a fantastic year for Ruth as she starts a full time position this September, and winning the design challenge has been the "icing on the cake". Dr Erica Liu, Erica and Kirstys' course leader, was delighted to have two of her students in the final three and congratulated Satelliet Browns for the continuous support of higher education in design together with the amount of effort and resources that are put into the design competition.
