Satelliet Browns Student Design Challenge 2008   Judging session, Friday 4th April 2008, London   With some of the UK's top designers in the room, the judging began with all 31 finalists being studied closely. Kate Long from Bell Slater was impressed at the way the winning designer had managed to communicate her idea through the board giving "the client" a very concise overview of the concept. Rock Galpin found it refreshing to see so much talent amongst the UK's design students, whilst Dave Knight of D2 design was thrilled to have been part of the judging panel.             Amongst the Judges in attendance were Shaun Clarkson, Rock Galpin, Dave and Dom from D2 Design, Sasha and Marcello from Shaun Clarkson Design, Kate Long and Jayne Senior from Bell Slater, all assisted by representatives from Satelliet Browns, Theme Magazine, Bar 08 and co sponsors SUSO.   After much deliberation, the top 3 were selected, with Ruth Blizzard's Art Bar winning in 1st place.             All judges agreed that the standard of the work from this years finalists' was the best yet. Harvey Ockrim, managing director of Satelliet Browns said "we recognise that the students presenting their work at today's event are the future of the industry and it is refreshing to see some exceedingly original and innovative work on display".   The winning designs will be on display at the Bar 08 Show, Earls Court London June 17th & 18th. Ruth's design will inspire the design of the SUSO Bar at the show.   Suzie Ager, Bar 08 Show Manager commented "The Satelliet Browns Design Challenge is an important part of the show for us and I am looking forward to building the bar at this years show. The influence of Ruth's design will give the bar that extra special something we have been looking for".
