Satelliet-Browns on course for

success at Yorkshire’s KP Club

Think of golf clubhouses and you probably have a vision of stuffy oak panelled rooms with heavy leather furniture and faded photographs of past captains gathering dust on the walls.

Soho Seating UnitsWell think again. The KP Club in the former Kilnwick Percy Golf Club couldn’t be more different.

For a start the building itself, the ultra modern Glass House with spacious verandas overlooking the 18th green, is a brilliant example of cutting edge design, serving both golfers and investors buying luxury homes adjoining the course at Pocklington near York,

And the furnishings, by leading leisure furniture specialists Satelliet-Browns compliment the building’s contemporary, but hugely practical design qualities.

Harvey Ockrim, Managing Director of Satelliet-Browns said: “The KP Club is a very spectacular venue, so it was important that the furniture we supplied matched the building’s design values.

“The client wanted a very modern feel, but with a hint of the traditional while providing the quality that both the golfers and prestige property owners would expect of such an establishment.”

Sales Manager Peter Carter said:  “The KP Club and their designer Michelle Wraith of Eye for Design, made some varied and very inspired choices from our new collections.

“Some of the lounge areas in the Glass House feature our very modern Soho range of modular chairs and corner units in a tasteful grey fabric material.

“We also supplied traditional chesterfield sofas, to retain the club house feel, but in a very modern shade of gold. Chesterfield Sofa

“In the dining room we have the Sign range of chairs with their unusual and very dramatic shapes, matched to simple pedestal tables.”

“Our other major challenge was to find modern comfortable all-weather outdoor furniture for the extensive verandas.

“Our Rio range of armless chairs with low matching table in give a simple elegant and casual feel, while the Bubble range of outdoor chairs and sofas give more of the club feel”.

Michelle Wraith of Eye for Design said: “The Glass House must be one of the most spectacular golf clubhouses in the country and we are delighted with the way the furnishings compliment the architecture of the building.

“Satelliet had a great range of both indoor and outdoor furniture for us to choose from to get exactly the correct effect.”

“When we work with the KP Club we are always encouraged to think out of the box, and the Glass House is a classic example of that philosophy working at its best.

“We were aiming for a funky feeling with a bit of edge, but something that would make the traditional golfers feel at home as well as appealing to the new members and home owners.

“And that is what we have achieved.”

The extensive redevelopment of Kilnwick Percy Golf Club has transformed it into one of Yorkshire's leading leisure destinations.
Bubble ChairsFollowing a £2.5 million investment, Kilnwick Percy Golf Club is being transformed into a luxury leisure destination including the new clubhouse, course improvements, restaurant, bar and fourteen brand new contemporary second homes, all of which come under the new brand of the KP Club.
KP Living will be a collection of second homes, set in over four hundred acres of rolling countryside with views reaching as far as York.
Simon Brown, Managing Director of the KP Club said: “We are really pleased with the way the Glass House design and furnishings have come together.
“It has gone down very well with everyone.”
